Linda Diane Ney, age 55, of Merrill, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 27, 1957 in Merrill to the late Vernon & Naomi “Ruth” (Ward) Sukow.
Linda graduated from High School in Ocala, FL in 1976. She moved back to Merrill in 1977. Throughout the years Linda worked for Wire Products Corp, Alumatech, Wausau Window and Wall, Hurd Millwork and most recently Northern Wire until she retired due to health reasons. Linda was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. She was active in Boy Scouts when her sons were scouts. Linda enjoyed gardening and horseback riding. She will be remembered for her kindness and helping her neighbors, whatever the need. Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her significant other: Leo Leiskau, Merrill; two sons: Robert Ney & Eric (Jaclyn) Ney, all of Merrill; two grandsons: Zander & Caleb Ney; two brothers: Gary (Karen) Sukow, Ocala, FL, & Ronald Sukow, Summerfield, FL; six sisters: Karen (Artie) Bankard, South Daytona Beach, FL, Katheryn Harcombe, CA, Marje (Roger) Shaw, CT, & Lorie Bushar, South Daytona Beach, FL. She is also survived by Jon (Kelly) Leiskau, Merrill, & David Leiskau, Apple Valley, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jane.
Funeral services will be held 7 PM Monday, February 18, 2013 at Waid Funeral Home.
Rev. Linda Kuhn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial of Linda’s cremated remains will take place at a later date in Snow Hill Cemetery. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
