Three indicted on federal drug charges

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has secured federal indictments against three subjects involved in the distribution of drugs in North Central Wisconsin.
In early December the Federal Magistrate in the US District Court Madison issued warrants for the arrests of: Leanna M. Wells, 32, of Merrill; Jennifer L. Roper, AKA Jennifer Maki, AKA Jennifer Mulford, 47, of Merrill; and Rose H. Kirmsse, 32, of Black Creek, formerly of Merrill.
The three suspects were all taken into custody on Dec. 4, 2012. Wells was taken into custody by deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Roper by officers of the Merrill Police Department, and Kirmsse by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office. They were delivered to the US Marshal at Madison the following day by Lincoln County deputies.
The three face charges including: possession with intent to distribute heroin, distributing heroin, and conspiracy to distribute heroin. If convicted of these charges they face up to 20 years in a federal prison and fines up to one million dollars.
Law enforcement officers in Lincoln County continue to work with state and federal authorities and are expecting additional state, and possibly federal charges may be introduced against others involved in the drug trade. This is all a part of the ongoing effort by law enforcement in Lincoln County to combat drugs and drug related crimes in our community.
