Ralph Peterson, 79, of Merrill, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. He was born November 17, 1932 in Merrill to the late Clarence & Emma (Dahl) Peterson. He married Mary Lou on February 20, 1956 in Merrill. She survives.
Ralph was a 1950 graduate of Merrill Senior high School. He owned and operated Peterson Bus Service and farmed his entire life. Ralph was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working outside in his yard. Ralph loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; Mary Lou Peterson, Merrill; three sons: Kirby (Cheri) Peterson, Steven (Tena) Peterson and Matthew Peterson, all of Merrill; seven daughters: Jane (Bill) Ollhoff, Merrill, Jean Peterson, Gainsville, GA, Julie Peterson, Downey, CA, Jan Peterson, Caldwell, ID, Jenny Peterson, Elkhart Lake, WI, Jody Peterson, Stevens Point, and Jackie (Alan) Welch, Merrill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Russell, and three brothers.
Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 24, 2012 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Maurice Schaus will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Waid Funeral Home and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park.
