Ruth E. (Walter) Henkelmann, age 79, of Lawton, Oklahoma, died Monday, August 6, 2012 in Lawton.
Ruth was born June 2, 1933, in Berlin, Germany. She married CW2 (Retired) Elgart E. Henkelmann on September 5, 1963, in Wiesbaden, Germany. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1978. Ruth and Elgart came to the United States of America in 1963 from Germany. Ruth spent her life as a homemaker.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Janice Henkleman, of Wausau, and Lorraine Eastburn, of Fort Myers, Florida; and many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin and Germany. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Annelis Walter; her brother, Alfred Walter; two sisters-in-law, Laura Schneider, and Lucille Karau; and two brothers-in-law, Harvey Henkelman and Clarence Henkelman.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Susan Christian will officiate. Burial will take place in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River, Lincoln County, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
