Kurt “Kurth” Wendt, 83, of Merrill, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at Good Samaritan Health Center.
He was born March 5, 1929 in the town of Corning to the late Robert & Ella (Schmidt) Wendt. He married Carol June Kasten on June 28, 1952 in Merrill, a marriage lasting 59 years.
Kurth worked as a dairy farmer in Merrill. He had served in the U. S. Army from 1955-1957. Kurth enjoyed working in the woods, being outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and fun loving attitude.
Survivors include his wife: Carol Wendt, Merrill; four sons: Brian Wendt, Bruce Wendt, Kevin (Dana) Wendt, all of Merrill, & Darin (Jennifer) Wendt, Hortonville, WI; four grandchildren: Tyler, Bryson, Alexa & Colin Wendt; and brother: Robert Wendt;. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred Woller, Leila Wegner & Hilda Kleinschmidt, brothers, Alvin, Edward, Harold & Arnold Wendt, and grand daughter, Keana Wendt and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Wendt.
Services will be held 11AM Friday, June 29, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.
The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Friday, June 29 before the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
