Esther E. Steidtman, age 85, of Merrill, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Esther was born Sept. 22, 1926 in Merrill, the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Hoff) Steidtman.
Esther worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory from 1944 until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends. Esther liked dining at Champs and listening to those around her. She was a past member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: sisters Florence (Allan) Lemke, Green Bay, Lorna (Lilas) Woller, Arbor Vitae, Adeline Tessendorf, IL; brother Fritz Steidtman, Arizona, many nieces and nephews, other family members, neighbors, friends and co workers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Ernst, Harold, Walter, and William Steidtman.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Pine Crest Nursing Home Chapel. Chaplain Stephen Russell will officiate with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service at Pine Crest Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Waid funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
