Devan Porath becomes Eagle Scout

Devan Porath earned his Eagle Scout Rank at his Board of Review on Wednesday, May 24, 2011. Devan is a member of Troop 599 of Merrill.

Devan joined Scouts when he was 5 years old. Over the last 11 years, he earned countless badges and earned the required 21 badges for Eagle Scout and also earned 10 additional badges. Devan earned his Parvuli Dei and Light of Christ religious awards. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow during his stay at Camp Tesomas in 2009. In 2010 he became a member of the Brotherhood.

For his Eagle Project, Devan, with the help of scouts and parents, switched the Music room and the Library at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, where he attended school for 8 years. He also moved two classrooms, cleaned and painted walls and bookcases.

Devan helped several of his fellow scouts complete their Eagle Projects. He has enjoyed all of the wonderful opportunities that scouting has offered him over the years, and will continue to be an active member of his troop, and is currently working to obtain Palm Awards that are available to Eagle Scouts.

Devan will be a junior at Merrill High School this fall. He plays summer and High School Soccer and is a member of the Link Crew. He is an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church where he volunteers for the Friday Fish Fries and other projects. Devan is the son of Mark and Melissa Porath.
