Merrill High School bands in concert

The Merrill High School Bands will close out the MAPS holiday concert season with their first concert of the year. The bands will be playing pieces from the standard repertoire of band literature, as well as some holiday arrangements.
The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Matt Callope, will play “Brazilian Folk Dance Suite” by William Rhoads, “The Battle Pavane” by Bob Margolis, and “The Glory of Christmas,” arranged by Paul Jennings, plus others. The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kevin Short, will play pieces such as Clare Grundman’s “Hebrides Suite,” “Americana Folk Suite,” arranged by Barry Kopetz, and “A Christmas Fantasia,” arranged by Elliot Del Borgo.
The concert will take place on Monday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. Admission is free, and the public is highly encouraged to attend.
