October 8

A 45-year-old Merrill woman was arrested on an outstanding City of Merrill Municipal Court warrant.

2:43 p.m.- Police responded to a car vs. motorcycle accident at the intersection of E. 3rd St. and Pier St. A 43-year-old Weston male was riding his motorcycle when a car driven by a 48-year-old Merrill man made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle suffered minor injuries.

A Merrill resident reported the theft of cigarettes from his locked vehicle parked in the 600 block of E. Main Street during the overnight hours.

October 9

A 19-year-old female was arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking after yelling obscenities in the Walmart parking lot and kicking a glass door at Check N Go.

A ceramic mushroom was stolen from a yard in the 2200 block of River St.

A 44-year-old male was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct after getting in an argument in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

October 10

An officer on patrol observed two persons arguing in the 1200 block of W. Main St. A 23-year-old male was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after he hid a paper bag in the brush with individual bags of marijuana. A 27-year-old woman was also arrested for disorderly conduct.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested for damage to property after she scratched graffiti with a rock on a truck in the 1400 block of E. 1st St. She was also cited for underage drinking.

October 11

A male called the police department after receiving a phone call that he won a car and $900, all he had to do is send $400. He was advised not to call the number back, since it was a scam.

Two females were cited for disorderly conduct after they were swearing and yelling at people outside of a business on West Main St.

Officers went to an address on Memorial Drive to attempt contact with a male who had a warrant. Officers saw the male inside, and when they knocked on the door, the male hid in a bedroom in the residence. The female that opened the door told officers that the male party was not there. Eventually, the male’s bond was paid prior to being arrested. The female was arrested for two warrants out of Shawano County. She was also cited for obstructing an officer.

Two intoxicated males were witnessed taking a motorized shopping cart from County Market. The males were located with the cart at a residence. They were arrested for theft and the cart was brought back to County Market.

An officer investigated a harassing phone call complaint. The suspect was cited for harassing calls. A female at the residence was arrested for a warrant through Marathon County.

October 12

12:40 a.m.- officers were dispatched to the Woodbine Ave. area after an anonymous person called stating they heard yelling and a male yell he needed to go to the hospital. Officers made contact at a residence and learned a father and son had gotten into a physical confrontation following an argument over the Minnesota Vikings football team and the son’s choice of music. Both had minor injuries to their faces/heads. Both were arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. A third individual at the residence was cited for underage drinking and given a ride home.

6:03 a.m.- an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Genesee St. The caller reported that a pit bull has been charging at her and her dog when she walks it in the mornings. On this morning the pit bull had attacked the caller’s dog. The pit bull had been wearing a muzzle so the victim dog was not bitten. The owner was located and cited for animal at large.

The Merrill Police Department took four reports on 10-12-10 of vehicles entered overnight and items stolen from within. Anybody with information is encouraged to call the Merrill Police Dept at 536-8311. The Merrill Police Department would like to remind everyone to keep valuables out of their vehicles and keep their vehicles locked. There has been a sharp increase in vehicle entries in the recent past.

October 13

A man was arrested in the 300 block of East St. on a warrant from Marathon County. The man was taken into custody and transported to jail. A search of his personal property revealed a stun gun, he was charged with felony possession of an electric weapon.

A man was taken into custody for a probation hold after he was found to be in violation of his rules of probation.
